There's nothing more refreshing on a hot summer day than a cold drink. But instead of knocking back the beers or soft drinks by the pool, why not try a glass full 'o' goodness with one of these green drinks from some lovely souls who have bared their secret recipes for The Sprout's Super Summer Guest-tacular Spectacular! Kine from Kine Blog's Life Changing Green Smoothie

  • 1.5 cups soy milk
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon spirulina powder
  • 1/2 avocado and/or 1 banana
  • 1 tablespoon cacao powder
  • 1 tablespoon of psyllium husk
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)

Strength Coach Deirdre Hinton's Quick Plant Protein Smoothie

  • 1-2 scoops of Plant protein (I used Plant Fusion's Cookies and Creme) depending on your intake needs
  • 500ml filtered water
  • 1cup fresh English spinach leaves
  • 2 tsp chia seeds soaked in 1 tbsp coconut milk

Blend it together in a food processor at high speed. For a thicker consistency use less water or add 1/4 avocado

Todd's Post-Workout Morning Juice

  • Thumb of ginger
  • 2 stalks of celery
  • whole lemon (or orange)
  • apple
  • beetroot
  • carrot

**I like to vary it from day to ay by adding fresh aloe vera or papaya or watermelon. Essentially anything else I've got I'll add to change the flavours a little but the list above is the starting point for sure**

Aaaaand Todd's Jungle Juice

  • Big handful of kale
  • Some Spinach
  • Silverbeet
  • celery (I like to use the leaves more than the stalks in this one)
  • banana (best if cut up and frozen first so it chills the smoothie more)
  • couple of dates to sweeten (can use a little agave but I find dates are best)
  • Fresh homemade almond milk, made from organic pre-soaked (activated) almonds.

**It's a thicker smoothie especially depending on how creamy your almond milk is, I try not to make my almond milk too thick, I prefer it on the watery side**
